Schedule and Fees

The Orchestra Year:

Our season runs from September through April and is divided into two semesters. Students auditioning for the fall semester do not need to reaudition for the winter/spring semester. Additional students may join mid-year for the winter/spring semester as orchestra openings permit. Students are expected to continue their instrumental study while in the orchestra.

Rehearsals:

Rehearsals usually take place on Sunday afternoons from 1:15-5:00pm. click here for rehearsal schedule Except in the case of illness, permission must be obtained at least two weeks in advance to be excused from a rehearsal, and at most two rehearsals will be excused in a single semester.

Performances:

We always give two performances at the end of each semester and occasionally schedule additional special performances. click here for performance schedule Attendance at every scheduled performance is mandatory for each orchestra member.

Tuition for 2016-2017:

  • There is a $100 audition fee due in advance of the audition. This audition fee is returned if we have no seat in any of our groups for the auditioner. For the first audition only in a given orchestra year this fee will be credited toward an admitted student's tuition.
  • 2016-2017 Season tuition: $1000, payable in full in September 2014
  • Semester tuition: $525, payable in full in September 2016 or January 2017

Financial Aid:

Need-based tuition assistance is available. Once accepted into the orchestra, families may apply for financial aid.
